Detail pics from some new pieces i have been working on. Prints are taken from etched Steel Plate onto 300gsm paper.
Today has been the hottest day of the year so far. Its peak summertime here and i have been enjoying spending the day printing at a friends studio.
I was working with the safe wash inks, seeing how they mixed with each other to make new colours and then printing the result after inking up a plate.

I have been trying out a range of etching inks that dont require solvents to clean the printing plates and tools. The inks are oil based but they can be washed out with water and soap applied with a sponge, i’ve been using a small amount of dish washing soap.
The inks mix together well and they feel comparable to traditional ink during the inking up process. I like them so far and its great not having to work with the solvent and its bad impact on health and the environment .
